OUR INSTRUCTORS

Bob Gelinas - PGA Professional
  • An awarded High School and junior golfer, and a member of the Stanislaus State University golf team which won a NCAA Division III National Championship, Bob attempted a career as a Touring Professional. He gave it 3 years, playing several events on the Canadian, Hogan and TC Jordan Professional Golf tours before deciding to become a PGA Club Professional.

  • He began learning about the golf swing as a freshman in High School from NCPGA’s teacher of the year, Doug Brooke. Over four years of tutoring, many sound basic concepts and theories were instilled by Doug, which Bob still refers to today when working with students. Bob assisted instructors with summer junior camps starting at age 16 and has been helping golfers score better ever since.

  • Bob has been a member of the PGA since 1997. His most recent position was at Tapps Island GC where he was the Head Professional responsible for all golf operations and instruction for a total of 7 years. At Tapps, one of the great accomplishments was to instruct a summer long junior program, with over 100 youths, without the benefit of a driving range. Prior to Tapps, Bob was a Teaching Professional at Tacoma Firs Golf Center. At Tacoma Firs, instruction was given to all levels of golfers and to group sizes ranging from 2-50 students. The Acheiver launch monitor and A-Star video systems were used to give students the best opportunity for learning. Bob has 15 years of experience in custom iron and wood fitting, and has attended Titleist, Ping and Taylor Made training classes for custom fitting.

  • Other than golf, you can find Bob snow skiing, fishing or cooking, sometimes all in one day!
